Plein Air Days, Family Time & Looking Ahead to July.
It’s been such a great energy booster to be away but I still miss the daily art practice with you all.
Hello friends,
This past week flew by—and it was such a lovely one. I spent a few days in Kent, UK , visiting family, and in between walks, chats, and plenty of tea, I had the chance to get outside with my new “New Wave “ pochade box and enjoy some peaceful plein air painting.
I’m really impressed with how the New Wave UGO Box and easel withstood the wind we’ve had for the past couple of days. It was also very easy to set up.
Some of you will have seen my stories on IG showing the full set up, I didn’t take the other side tray with me…
and I’m not sure how much I would need the extra tray, but if weight and air travel wasn’t an issue, maybe I’d take it. It packs in my hand luggage, which is great because it’ll be coming with me on my October Italy Retreat.
Check out the mini gouache palette which fits perfectly with this UGO box, thanks to Lu’s suggestion back in a drawing session we had… a pill box!! Genius!!! Thanks Lu!
We also went to Sissinghurst Castle with my mum and our girls. My mum will be 83 this year and is still so busy in her own garden. The last time I went with mum and the girls was in 2017. .The gardens were full of colour and light, and it felt so good to slow down, take it all in, and be completely in the moment. There’s something about being outside that brings a bit of clarity and calm
.We’ll be painting with my BSA Club this Sunday from my photos. Scroll to the bottom to get the link.
Later in the week, I spent a day in London with my Sister , nephew and our 2 girls… the two hours were spent at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, which, as always, was bursting with colour, boldness, and creative energy. I came away feeling completely inspired—and itching to get back into my studio. The range and diversity of artists always amazes me!
.I’ve really missed our weekly BSA drawing sessions while I’ve been away. It’s always such a joy to gather with you and share that creative space together. I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with you all in July, and this Sunday June 29th at 3pm est. usually just for my Sketch & Paint tier but as we will discuss July’s prompts I have opened it up for All Paying subscribers, click below :
Thank you all for following along with my travels and I’m excited to share more when I return.
I hope you’re all well, and that Summer has started in a great way for you!
